WEAR YOUR CONVICTIONS ON YOUR SLEEVE STORIES |

With stories from all over the country pouring in from people who participated in the Wear Your Convictions On Your Sleeve Protest on Friday, it has been an exciting weekend for all of us here at A-F Records! We want to thank all of you who participated in this protest and made it such a success! Some participants ran into trouble, and others had the day go smoothly. Participation varied, from lots of people participating in one place to just a few in another. Some of the kids who wrote to us seemed discouraged that they didn't have a lot of participation at their school, but we aren't discouraged by that, and we hope you won't be either. The way we see it, if those of you who are writing from places where just a few people wore armbands hadn't worn yours, then NO ONE would have been wearing one where you are! One of you wearing an armband where no one else was increased participation by 100%!!!! So much of the time we don't get to see the impact of our actions for a long time, which is totally frustrating! But by wearing your armbands you are laying the groundwork to make future protests more successful. Even if you don't realize it, you have not only raised the awareness of others, but you have taken an important step in living by your beliefs, which isn't always easy, and is always something to be proud of. More important than the success of this particular protest are the amazing stories we have received from kids across the country who discovered that they could stand up for themselves and successfully defend their Constitutional Rights! Anyone who has had a similar experience knows how empowering it is to fight, and win, the good fight. We also want to stand in solidarity with those who are still in the process of defending their rights. We hope that all of you will be able to take your intelligence, energy and enthusiasm and use it to keep working for positive change in our society and world.
